Privacy Policy

Version 2026-10-17 · Last updated 17 October 2026

DRAFT — pending review by a qualified solicitor. This document is not yet legal advice and should not be relied on until it has been reviewed.

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have. It is written to be read alongside our Terms & Conditions.

1. Who is responsible for your data

We are the data controller for the personal data held on the platform. Where you take part in a sale, the auction house running that sale is a separate controller of the data it needs to complete the transaction.

2. What we collect

Account data: name, email address, password (stored hashed), date of birth, telephone number and postal address.

Verification data: whether your email is verified, and for auction houses, identity and business verification information.

Activity data: the auctions you register for, lots you watch, bids you place, offers you make, purchases, and notifications.

Technical data: IP address, browser information, and cookies or local storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

To create and administer your account, and to verify your identity — performance of a contract.

To operate bids, sales, payments and invoicing — performance of a contract.

To send service messages such as a confirmation link, outbid alerts, ending-soon reminders and win notifications — performance of a contract or our legitimate interests.

To prevent fraud and misuse, and to keep the platform secure — our legitimate interests and legal obligations.

To send marketing communications — your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to sign you in and to remember your language and currency preferences. We do not use them to sell your data.

5. Who we share it with

The auction house running a sale you take part in, to the extent needed to complete the transaction.

Payment providers, to process payments and payouts.

Email and infrastructure providers that help us send notifications and run the platform, acting on our instructions.

Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to do so.

6. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is open. Transaction and financial records are kept for as long as required for tax and legal purposes. Data no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

7. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent for marketing.

To exercise any right, contact privacy@auctioneervision.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

8. Security

Passwords are stored in hashed form. Access to production systems is restricted. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK, we put appropriate safeguards in place.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified through the platform.
